Meow! for a publisher

Mew wants his picture book in children’s hands

So off it goes and New York’s where the first packet lands!

The Synopsis: For Mew the cat, simple things are where it’s at, compared to getting pilled, which does not thrill! What does Mew like? Playtime, tuna at mealtime, birdies going bye-bye on wings, these kind of things.

Expressions of different cat pleasures come to life through boldly colored photo illustrations and short rhyming couplets. At the book’s conclusion, Mew realizes if he is feeling blue, all he has to do is remember his favorite things, because Mew’s favorite things make him glad!

LE FINAL: Mew’s Favorite Things

And now, if Mew’s feeling blue, he has a trick to get him through.

He dreams a dream of tuna, or birdies on a wing, or maybe

Any other of his Favorite Things.

Then, if the dog should growl, Mew the cat, he does not howl!

Or, when his food has vanished, maybe he was not so famished!

No longer feeling mad or sad, Favorite Things have made him glad!

bright xmas packages tied up with string . . .

And Meow’s Favorite Things continue on . . .

It’s Christmas day, Oh joy Oh joy!

But not for toys, Oh boy Oh boy!

I race the house, I’m full of glee

To see such fun beneath the tree!

It’s paper, ribbon, and the string

That makes this kitty’s heart dost sing!

I jump, I slide, I hide. I rip, I pull, I bite.

What joy! And all for Meow’s delight!

petting and brushing & tuna as munchies

More of Meow’s Favorite Things . . .

Meow’s hair is silky-soft and thick

And if not combed it tends to stick.

He LOVES the brush

While Missy loves his hair, so lush.

Yes—Petting, brushing, are fine enough

Under the chin, his belly too

But just so much and then he’s through.

Now it’s time to munch, on a tuna treat—or two!

toy with a spring!

This is one of Meow’s Favorite Things. . .

Behind a door amongst puffs of dust

The prey awaits kitty cat lust.

Now paw extends, now teeth do grasp

A squirming prize at last.

To life it comes when dropped or flung—

Whole minutes of kitty cat fun!

Play with me! wiggle thing

A happy Meow’s heart shalt sing!

newspaper balls ! ! !

And more of Meow’s favorite things! Newspaper balls.

Meow’s a simple boy

Who loves a simple toy.

If it moves

His energy grooves.

Rolled up paper runs like prey

Catch it! Jump it! Fling it–this way!

Ripped and chewed

Ravaged trophies strewn.

There he lies

Sleeping off exhaustion—by and by.

tuna that sticks to my paw and my nose-e

One of Meow’s Favorite Things: Tuna!

I love a-love a-love, my tuna fish!

Out of the can or in my dish.

Its fishy smell and oily taste,

I’ve gotta have it all, there’s none to waste!

Now all’s gone, my belly’s stuffed, I ate too much!

I’m tired now, but I’m a cat and cats must groom—

A tuna scrap! I guess my belly still has room!
